It's our birthday! Back in 2023 we launched Muddled Vintage on an unsuspecting public and have been spreading the sparkly love ever since.

For those who don’t know us, let’s do another introduction - we're Helen and Christen, friends and cocktail lovers living in the far west of Cornwall. Together we run Muddled Vintage, an online emporium selling an eclectic selection of vintage glasses and barware.

Christen is an award-winning journalist turned Pilates teacher, while Helen is an artist and entrepreneur. This apparently random collision of skills has resulted in a fresh approach to sourcing and reviving gorgeous glassware.

Muddled Vintage has its unlikely origin in a Monday night Pilates class. We were a chatty bunch and somewhere between the hundred and the teaser, talk turned to cocktails and before you could say “cheers” we'd turned ourselves into The West Cornwall Cocktail Club.

Uninspired by the selection of modern glasses on offer and as devotees of all things vintage, we went in search of unique and interesting glassware.  An initial foray around some local auction houses revealed an unexpectedly wonderful selection of second-hand gems and Muddled Vintage was born.

In an age of mass production and rampant consumerism, vintage is more relevant than ever. There's a growing realisation that secondhand products have less environmental impact than new items. The quality is often superior and there's an aesthetic aspect too; vintage pieces are a wonderful way to create a unique home full of character and individual style.

We love the ritual of making cocktails - the clink of ice in the bucket, the swirl of liquid in the mixing jug and the almost-alchemical process that creates a dazzlingly delicious drink from the simplest of ingredients. And, of course, we love nothing more than quaffing our cocktails from beautiful glasses.

The last three years have taken us on a journey into the history, design and manufacture of objects that can easily be taken for granted, and it’s been fascinating. We have deepened our knowledge and honed our photographic and styling skills, enabling us to send forgotten glassware back into the world to bring joy to a new generation. From the Georgian era to the 1980s, from the finest crystal to kitsch atomic prints, we have something to suit every style and budget.
